What Walking Football Queensland does with your information, in plain words.
Last changed 13 September 2026.
What we hold
- What you send us through a form
- Whatever you type into a contact or enquiry form, which is usually your name, your email address and your message. It is stored on this site and emailed to whoever looks after enquiries.
- The fact that you visited
- Our server keeps a short log of requests: the page, the time, your browser and your network address. It is how we find out that something is broken. Nobody reads it otherwise.
- Your account
- Your name, your email address and a scrambled version of your password that cannot be turned back into it. Whatever else you choose to add: a phone number, a photograph, a preferred name, an emergency contact.
- Your children, if you add them
- A child's name and date of birth, and which adults may act for them. A child has a profile rather than a login. The date of birth is there because age decides which grades they may play in, and for nothing else.
- Which squads you are in, and when you can play
- Your answers to "are you playing on Tuesday" and the squads you belong to. Other people in your squad can see both, which is the point of them.
- How you played
- Team sheets, positions, goals, cards and results. These are published: a fixture page is public, so anybody with the link can see who played and what happened.
- Messages you post
- What you write in a squad thread, and who wrote it. Everyone in that squad can read it. There are no private messages, so nothing here is one.
- Your device, if you turn notifications on
- A token your phone or browser gives us so a notification can be sent to it. It identifies the device, not you, and it is deleted as soon as the device stops accepting them.
- What you have paid
- What was paid, when, and for what. Card numbers never reach this site: payment is handled on our behalf by a payment provider, and we are told only whether it succeeded.
Children
A child added by a parent has a profile, not a login, and cannot sign in. Only the adults named as their guardians can see or change their details or answer for them. Children are kept out of the chat entirely; a guardian reads and posts on their behalf. Ask us and we will delete a child's record.
Who else sees anything
We do not sell anything about you and we do not hand it to anybody for their own use. These are the services this site needs in order to work:
- Google reCAPTCHA
- Checks that a form is being filled in by a person. Google sees the visit to any page carrying a form.
- Our payment provider
- Takes the card details directly, so they never pass through this site. They keep their own record of the payment.
- Apple, Google or your browser maker
- Carries a notification to your device. They see that a message was sent, not what a squad thread says.
- Our email provider
- Sends anything this site emails you, and knows the address it went to.
How long we keep it
For as long as you are involved with us, and for a while afterwards because people come back. Ask us to delete your record and we will, except where we have to keep something: a payment has to be accounted for, and a published result stays published because it is part of the record of a season.
What you can ask for
- A copy of everything we hold about you.
- Anything wrong corrected. Most of it you can correct yourself on your account page.
- Your record deleted, subject to the paragraph above.
- To be left alone: we will stop emailing you, and every email we send has an unsubscribe link.
Keeping it safe
The site is served over an encrypted connection. Passwords are stored scrambled and cannot be read back, by us or by anybody who took a copy of the database. We keep as little as we can, which is the only protection that always works.
Asking us about any of this
Email info@walkingfootballqueensland.com.au. We would rather sort something out with you directly than have you go elsewhere first. If we cannot, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
